We have a provosional list of the articles that can be shipped, with a standard volume and weight to Ecuador. In order to help you determine the volume and weight of all your cargo, our website provides you with a couple of easy steps: get an estimated price for your move.


If you choose a Full Container Load (FCL) to ship to Ecuador, you are responsible for the entire load into the truck. Since the container is not shared, your belongings will be way more safe from any unknown cargo that could be mixed.


In case you use Less than a Container Load (LCL) to ship to Ecuador, all your belongings must be properly boxed and wrapped. If you do not have a pallet to place your load on, let us know at the moment of the reservation and we will provide.

Documentation

It is extremely important to have all the correct documentation present when going to Ecuador. You must have your passport, employment identification number, and work visa. For your shipment, you are required to have a list with all the items and goods that your are shipping, a document called the packing list. Being organized and thorough will help you with any inspections or insurance claims.

Packing your furniture for an international moving

Is important to know the correct way to pack their belongings and household goods for an international move to Ecuador. Some items like furniture or other fragile good are rather tricky in ocean shipping and that’s where the packing takes an important role. If your furniture can be dismantled, it should be done so and then packed for shipping. For fragile items, double or even triple paaging is considered to be a safe bet.

What items can not be sent in a moving container?

The Ecuatorian Inspection Services (or Ecuatorian Customs) is responsible for monitoring and inspecting all foreign goods that arrive at the country. This officers along with sophisticated machines inspect over 100 million goods or items each year. The prohibited items for Ecuador include:



  • fresh fruit, vegetables, live plants, seeds

  • live animals (including pets)

  • biological products

  • unprocessed goods of plant or animal origin

  • soiled goods, or goods containing organic residues

  • goods knowingly infested with pests or a disease.

Taxes

Tax rules and regulations differ from one country to another. US and Ecuador don´t have a specific tax treaty. The treaty has provisions with regards to double taxation on pensions, social security, and other income. In order to be fully aware of your tax situation, the best is to consult a moving advisor.

Where to ship when moving to Ecuador

Due to the increase in exports and the impact it has on the economy, both seaports and fluvial ports have played a huge role in the development of this country. Two of the most important ports in Ecuador are:



  • Port of Guayaquil: The Port of Guayaquil was built in 1963; it is the most important port in Ecuador. More than 70% of its foreign trade happens here. Its location, very close to the Panama Canal, makes it a very special port for ocean transportation between South America and the Eastern part of the continent, as well as, Europe and Asia.

  • Port of Manta: The Port of Manta is the first tourism seaport in Ecuador. Its closeness to one of the biggest airports in the country makes it a key location for logistics. It is 600 miles away from the Panama Canal, allowing it to be a linking point for foreign trade with the rest of the world; as well as being the closest seaport to Asia in South America’s western coast. The facility is updated and modern, to expedite the admission of different kinds of boats
