The notify party receives arrival or destination-related notifications.
The consignee and notify party may be the same organization, but their functions are different.
The parties shown can also vary between a House Bill of Lading and a Master Bill of Lading.
Being listed as the consignee or notify party does not automatically establish cargo ownership, customs responsibility or payment obligations.
