Black Friday 2026 is on Friday, 27 November, followed by Cyber Monday on 30 November. Imported stock needs to be available for your campaign before customers place orders. A vessel’s arrival date or an airport landing does not mean the goods are ready to sell.

For businesses arranging Black Friday freight, plan towards a confirmed warehouse receiving date, then protect enough time for customs, inland delivery and inventory check-in.

Quick Overview

MilestoneWhat to confirm
Black Friday27 November 2026
Cyber Monday30 November 2026
Campaign launchYour own first promotion date, which may be earlier
Stock readinessReleased, received and available in the selling system
Freight commitmentActual cargo readiness, departure, cut-offs and delivery scope

Build a Stock Plan Before Choosing a Service

Separate products into three groups: essential campaign stock, goods that can follow later and products that should be excluded if they cannot arrive in time. Record the quantity required for each group and the last useful receiving date.

This helps avoid paying urgent freight for a whole order when only a few items support the promotion. It also gives sales teams a clear basis for changing offers if a shipment falls behind.

For goods entering a fulfilment centre or marketplace warehouse, confirm labelling, appointment requirements and the difference between physical delivery and stock becoming sellable. These receiving arrangements can affect the commercial deadline.

Compare the Complete Ocean and Air Freight Options

FCL, LCL and air freight solve different shipment requirements. Compare the full cost and delivery scope for the cargo you actually have.

OptionWhen to assess itQuestions to resolve
FCLLarger stock movements or cargo needing a dedicated containerCan the supplier load on time, and is destination transport arranged?
LCLSmaller commercial ordersWhat are the consolidation, unloading and final delivery stages?
Air freightA smaller urgent quantity or goods supporting sufficient marginDoes the complete delivery estimate meet the last useful date?
Split shipmentA priority quantity is needed before the balanceDo the added handling, documents and freight costs justify the split?

Use the international shipping time guide to distinguish transport time from the complete delivery process.

Do not assume that a more expensive service will solve a late production date. Goods still need to be ready, accepted and handed over before the relevant cut-offs.

Check the Costs That Affect Your Sale Margin

Build the budget around goods received at the agreed endpoint. Review origin collection and handling, international transport, destination charges, customs-related costs and final delivery. Confirm which items are included in the quote and which are payable separately.

Also ask about quote validity, potential adjustments, storage arrangements and any applicable equipment or terminal time allowances. A lower main freight rate may produce a higher total when the scope differs.

Illustrative decision: assume the extra logistics cost of prioritising 200 units is USD 1,000. That adds USD 5 per unit. Compare that amount with the contribution expected from selling those units during the campaign. These are hypothetical figures, not freight rates or a forecast of sales.

Avoid basing the decision on gross sales value alone: discounts, product cost and other selling costs still affect the amount available to fund urgent transport.

Confirm Customs and Delivery Responsibilities

Review the commercial invoice and packing list against the final goods. Confirm the importer’s details, product classification review and any permits or product requirements with the appointed representative. Check current destination requirements for the exact transaction.

Agree who responds if customs requests more information. Confirm the final delivery address, unloading arrangements and receiving appointment before the shipment reaches destination.

For US-linked shipments, ask each operating party about Thanksgiving-week staffing and receiving hours. Do not assume that ports, customs services, carriers and warehouses follow one common holiday schedule.

Use a Practical Final Review

Before confirming transport, establish:

  1. Which stock is essential and its last useful receiving date.
  2. Whether the supplier can meet the actual handover cut-off.
  3. Which stages and charges the service includes.
  4. Whether customs and receiving information is complete.
  5. Who approves a fallback option and its additional cost.

Review the latest freight market updates alongside your route-specific quote. Market reporting provides context; the booking details determine the shipment plan.
